The company's Houston, TX Laboratory recently announced that the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) had awarded it full accreditation for fungal and bacterial analysis under the Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP), making EMSL Analytical, Inc. the first laboratory in the nation to operate AIHA EMLAP-accredited labs in different states.

When a laboratory is accredited by AIHA, its clients have assurance that the laboratory has met defined performance standards, including personnel qualifications, proficiency under the Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing program, facilities, quality assurance, records, analytical methods, and SOPs.  Additionally, AIHA accreditation  insures laboratory compliance with ISO 17015 policies and procedures. Regular site visits are conducted by trained, experienced assessors.
